Superior Pilates Questions

Here are some of the questions most asked of us about how things work at Superior Pilates and, I hope, short, clear answers. If you have other questions you feel belong on this list, please let one of us know. I hope this will help make things even more enjoyable for everyone at Superior Pilates!

What if I need to cancel?
If you must cancel an appointment, please do so with 24 hours notice to avoid paying for the full session. Please call the receptionist; she is in charge of scheduling. If she doesn’t answer your call, please leave a voicemail or you can contact her via email at contact@superiorpilates.net, this way the exact time of your call will be recorded so that late cancellation can be avoided. This is the only way to cancel and avoid being charged.

What if I need to use my cell phone?
Unless it’s an emergency, we ask that you please turn your cell phone off. If you need to take a call, please go to the change room or step outside so your call won’t disturb others. Thanks!

What if I’m going on an extended trip?
We can only hold your standing appointments for up to 4 weeks. After that, you can continue to hold them for the price of the lesson.

Where do I change?
If the change room is open, please use it or the shower room when you change clothes. This leaves the bathroom for more urgent matters!

Where do I put my belongings?
Please remove your shoes at the door and take all personal belongings including your shoes to the lockers. We want to keep the clean feel of the studio. (Please no high heels across the floor, even if they are clean.)

Note: Superior Pilates isn’t responsible for lost or stolen belongings.

What are the rules on the shower?
The shower is for everyone, first come, first served. Placing your bags in the room doesn’t reserve it. Please limit showers to 15 minutes so others get their turn.

What if I am running late?
Please call the studio so that the receptionist can notify the instructor.

How long is a session?
Joseph Pilates said “Pilates and a shower in an hour.” Sessions are meant to be 50 minutes. This also gives instructors time to schedule appointments, get payment and use the restroom!

How does payment for group classes work?
Group classes are created starting with 3 students and a maximum of 5. Once a group class starts it will stay a group class until the students decide the contrary. At the moment your package is up and don’t desire to continue please let the receptionist and instructor know so that you will not be kept on the schedule.

What about drop-ins to scheduled classes?
Drop-ins are permitted for some scheduled classes, provided space is available. It is recommended that you call the studio prior to coming in for such a class to ensure that it is still scheduled and that a spot for a drop-in is available.

How do I sign up for group classes?
There is a minimum of 10 private classes required for first-time Superior Pilates students before you can take group classes. This is for safety reasons – so you’ll know the equipment and feel comfortable with lighter supervision. After that, group classes may be joined whenever you wish, based upon on your level (beginner, intermediate or advanced.)

How do I get a duet partner?
If you are interested in doing a duet, please notify your instructor and the receptionist. We will work on matching you up with someone at the same level.

What if I forget to pay and I am into my first class in a new package?
If this happens, please make sure to pay for your package by phone or just prior to your next lesson. If you forget to pay the next time, your credit card on file will be charged for unpaid lessons taken as regular rate.

Have a problem or an issue?
Please make any suggestions to Kristen Wolf and she will do her best to remedy a situation or problem.

One last thing: Please be considerate of other clients in the room while training by keeping your voice at a talking level. Thanks!
